Located in Pine Barrens, NJ, this project involved careful selection of plants that would tolerate sandy, acidic conditions. Implemented in two phases, we proposed first to construct bioretention basins to collect storm water runoff from the driveway. Secondly, we mitigated slope erosion by installing horizontal boulders with ground cover plants that will eventually spread and will contain the eroding soil. The old concrete block wall in the back of the property was replaced with a natural moss boulders retaining wall and bluestone steps to accentuate its woodland surrounding.
